Rockies’ Tulowitzki haunts Mets with homers

Seems as if there’s only one guy who can consistently hit home runs at Citi Field. Unfortunately for the Mets, that guy plays for the Rockies.

Troy Tulowitzki continued his rampage through Queens yesterday when he hit a home run in each game of the doubleheader, going a combined 5-for-8 in the Rockies’ 6-5 and 9-4 wins.

“There’s big parks,” Tulowitzki said, “but when I do get a ball, I will take my chances pretty much at any park.”

During the four-game series, Tulowitzki had four home runs — one in each game, a Citi Field consecutive-game home run record — and combined to go 10-for-16 with eight RBIs.

Although he came into the series hitting .214, he now has seven home runs through the first 12 games and a ludicrous 22 home runs in his past 41 games, dating back to last season.

Tulowitzki’s home run in the first game came in the seventh inning off Bobby Parnell, the same Mets reliever Tulowitzki abused for a mammoth blast on Wednesday night.

This one, a towering solo shot to left field, made the game 6-2 and turned out to be the game-winner when the Mets scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth and cut the lead to 6-5.

“I put some good swings on it, but I can’t sit here and say the ball looks huge and I’m hitting everything right now,” Tulowitzki said.

“The game’s not that easy, but I definitely had a good series.”

Strangely enough, the most successful plan of attack against Tulowitzki was when R.A. Dickey, the Mets’ knuckleballer who started the first game, faced the right-handed slugger with the bases loaded in the third inning.

Dickey threw Tulowitzki five straight fastballs — all around 86 mph — and induced a broken-bat double play, ending the inning.

“He’s a great player,” Jose Reyes said of his shortstop counterpart.

“He can do it all on the field. Hopefully the next time we face those guys on the field, he doesn’t do the same.”

In the second game, Tulowitzki came up in the sixth inning against starter Chris Capuano, the Mets leading 4-2. On the first pitch of the inning, Capuano left a cutter out over the plate and Tulowitzki hit it deep into the left-field seats.
