Can’t afford to hang our heads after tough loss

Landry Fields will be keeping a daily playoff diary for The Post, as the 22-year-old rookie shooting guard chronicles his first-ever postseason series, the Knicks’ first-round battle with the Celtics, and more. As told to Mark Hale.

BOSTON — You definitely feel pretty good when Toney Douglas hits that shot. Then you start to think, “OK, it’s Boston.”

They don’t die. They play well. They’ve been around. They’ve got the experience.

This loss was very difficult. Bos ton’s a team like that — they don’t die. We had some key plays down the stretch we needed to make but didn’t. Hopefully next game we can clean that up. The locker room afterwards was pretty tough, but we can’t hang our heads right now. We’ve got another game tomorrow. We’ve got to prepare well today.

After the game, Coach just said, “Don’t get too low. It’s a long series. They’ve got to win three more.”

We’ll be all right.

For me, to be honest with you, it was just like another game. I really didn’t feel any more intense or anything more than I do in a normal game. I just was out there trying to play. I had a few more touches in the second half, so I tried to take advantage of those. Didn’t really go my way. But it’s just sometimes the way basketball is.

I was tossing and turning a little bit on Saturday night, I’m not going to lie. It was kind of weird. But just because of the anticipation and the excitement of last night. Having shootaround yesterday morning makes the playoffs feel more like a routine. I think it’s very important to get back in your routine, not make it more than what it is. Go out there, have fun and play basketball.

I think it’s very important for us to win one of the first two in Boston. I think a win would get our confidence up. Taking it back home, the energy, the kind of crowd we’ll have back at MSG will pump us up even more. So I think it’s very important to get this second game here.

I definitely feel confident we can do that. I think we’ve been following the coaches’ plans real well. We prepared real well. So we’ve just got to go out there and execute.
