Keeping our energy up key to getting back in this

Landry Fields will be keeping a daily playoff diary for The Post, as the 22-year-old rookie shooting guard chronicles his first-ever postseason series, the Knicks’ first-round battle with the Celtics and more. As told to Mark Hale.

BOSTON — At practice (yesterday), the spirit was good. It was like we were getting ready for Game 1 again.

I think that’s going to be good. Bring that same intensity and energy into the game (tonight) and hopefully we can get a different outcome.

(Yesterday) we did a lot of offense. (Today) during shoot-around, we’ll go over the defensive principles — areas where we can exploit them in their defensive principles and how we can be most successful against them.

Carmelo Anthony’s been pretty much the same. He’s been there before. With him, it’s just even if he has a game like that, it doesn’t really faze him. That’s just the sign of a good scorer and great player. Having that short-term memory, it shouldn’t affect him at all the next game. He doesn’t seem down or anything. It’s just his demeanor. He’s been there before. He’s good.

If Chauncey Billups can’t go in Game 2, it’s a big loss. You’re talking about experience. Somebody who has a chip. We had a few games without him this year, so we’ll see how it goes.

I have all the confidence in the world that Toney Douglas can do the job. Toney can pass and score. So just kind of the same things that Chauncey’s done. But obviously that experience isn’t there. But we have total faith in Toney. He’s done it before when Chauncey was out earlier this year.

I was down after Game 1 because of pretty much everything. But then again, it’s a new atmosphere, a new playoffs, so I’m trying not to harp on it too much. I was talking to Mike D’Antoni about it. You’ve got to have short-term memory with that stuff. Everybody has those kind of games. So on to the next one.

We can’t do anything about it anymore, so to sit here and pout and hang my head, it really does an injustice to me and everybody around me. So we have to try to maintain energy, just go out there and play and have fun.
