Vroom with a view! Car smashes into Promenade

A car almost took a nosedive off the Brooklyn Heights Promenade last Wednesday following a wild ride past the corner of Clark Street and Columbia Heights.

The car charged down Clark Street at 9:52 pm on April 20, but failed to turn at Columbia Heights — opting instead to vault the curb, zip underneath a construction scaffolding, bash through a wooden police barrier and slam into the promenade fence, denting two of its wrought iron bars.

The car was smashed and leaking oil, but its driver was no worse for wear: he was found sitting on a promenade bench — obviously taking in the wonderful view of the Manhattan skyline — before paramedics removed him to Long Island College Hospital on Amity Street for treatment of a minor injury, an FDNY spokesman said.
