LONDON — When a beautiful young woman with lustrous brown hair stepped out of a car at Westminster Abbey on Friday to reveal a gleaming white dress, the world gasped. A few moments later, they did the same for her sister Kate.
Pippa Middleton emerged into the public eye in such spectacular style that she risked overshadowing her sister as the world watched.
While some were surprised that the maid of honor wore a white dress, more were astonished at how well she carried it off. Like her sister’s dress, Pippa Middleton’s was a Sarah Burton creation made of a heavy, ivory satin-based crepe with a cowl front and had the same button detail and lace trims as that worn by the new Duchess of Cambridge.
But unlike the bridal gown, Pippa Middleton’s dress was figure-hugging, mesmerizing the male half of the two billion people watching around the world.
Social networking sites immediately went wild for the sister of the new duchess.
“Pippa Middleton looks absolutely stunning! I think I am in love,” was among other, less decorous, comments. Many immediately inquired, rather hopefully, whether she was single.
The answer seems to be no. She is reportedly dating Alex Loudon, an old Etonian former cricketer, who played once for England.
