Medical examiner: Brooklyn jazz musician was stabbed

The jazz musician found dead and stuffed inside a trunk yesterday in the basement of his family’s Brooklyn home was in fact murdered, authorities said today.

Stanley Wright, 62, was stabbed multiple times in the neck and torso, according to the city medical examiner’s office.

Police have not released a motive for the killing of Wright, who performed jazz under the name Suleiman-Marim Wright.

The gruesome find was made early Tuesday morning when Wright’s son, Khalil, 36, went to his father’s Brownsville home and found the door open.

The trunk was in the basement, where there was also a broken window.

Wright — a widower who once taught music in a Brooklyn public school and did several gigs at Jazz at Lincoln Center — was last seen Friday moving his car.

He was beloved by many in his neighborhood, where he taught piano lessons to local kids for as little as $10.

Wright was the father of three, including Hollywood “Blade” actress N’Bushe Wright.

No arrests have been made.
