Jets’ LB Scott part of workouts with Dolphins players: report

Last season, Jason Taylor jumped from the Dolphins to the hated Jets. Now Jets mouthpiece Bart Scott will start working out with some Dolphins players.

NJ.com reports that due to the NFL lockout, several players from AFC East rivals plan to gather for workouts in Florida.

Scott and offensive lineman Vladimir Ducasse reportedly will be the Jets on hand, joining Dolphins Channing Crowder, Randy Starks, Benny Sapp and Daniel Thomas; Bills Donald Jones; and free agents Al Harris and Jevon Kearse, the report says.

Crowder and Rex Ryan threatened to fight each other prior to Ryan’s first season as Jets head coach.

It is a joint venture of TEST Football Academy, which has centers in Martinsville, N.J., and Boca Raton, Fla.

Called AFC East Blitz, it has its own Facebook page.

“This is the one time these guys will be working together toward something,” Martin said. “They’ll be battling against each other in a couple months, so it’s a perfect set-up.”

Players have been banned from team headquarters since the lockout began in March, with the exception of two days when a court ruling briefly lifted the ban.

Scott appeared on ESPN this week and said if the Jets don’t back up Ryan’s Super Bowl guarantee they will become “a joke.”

“I know if he’s out there writing checks, I’m gonna have to help him cash it … we embrace the challenge,” Scott said.

“I think it’s about time we get it done and see this thing through because, after a while, people are going to start looking at it as a joke.”
