Elite girls’ hoops teams, coaches in Bronx brawl

It was a real Rumble in the Bronx.

Two elite New York girls AAU basketball coaches traded vicious blows with each other — and two of their teenage players — in a fracas at a Fordham University tournament, witnesses told The Post.

The basketbrawl at the aptly-named “Rumble in the Bronx” tourney Sunday erupted in the handshake line after the Lady Gauchos under-16 team defeated the Exodus Swagga squad.

Losing Exodus coach Lenair Young punched Gauchos coach Earl Elliotte for cursing Exodus players, several witnesses said.

Exodus forward Tamara Jones said Elliotte then punched her in the face — and kicked her as she lay on the ground.

“I don’t know if I was unconscious, but at one point, I could not get off the floor,” Jones said.

Coach Young punched Gauchos player Shakila Small in the face, said the teenager’s dad, Anderson Straker.

Straker said his daughter will press charges against Young.

And Jones said she’ll press charges against Elliotte.

The NYPD said it had no record of any complaints.

Young denied he hit Small, but said he punched Elliotte after the rival coach struck Jones.

“At no point ever did I put my hand on a kid,” Young said.

Elliotte declined comment.

Both coaches were banned from the tournament next year.
