9/11 victim No. 2,753

The name of a 63-year-old Manhattan man who died of lung disease in December was added yesterday to the official list of 9/11 victims.

The city Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Jerry Borg was killed by complications from inhaling the dust at the World Trade Center site.

His death, from pulmonary sarcoidosis, raises the official count of 9/11 victims to 2,753.

The ruling, meanwhile, was a rarity. Thousands of people have blamed their health problems on 9/11 dust, but Borg was only the third added to the list.

All three were working downtown and got caught in the dense cloud of pulverized concrete and glass that billowed over lower Manhattan after the twin towers fell.

Felicia Dunn Jones, a 42-year-old civil-rights lawyer, fell ill immediately after the attacks and died of sarcoidosis within five months. Her death was not ruled as officially caused by the terrorist attacks until 2007.

Leon Heyward, 45, died in 2008 of lymphoma complicated by sarcoidosis.
