Brighton Beach bloodshed

On June 9, five people were shot on the boardwalk in Brighton Beach, one of whom lost her life (“Beach Shoot Arrest,” June 14).

How could something like this happen?

Obviously there were not enough police officers assigned to the beach area to watch over the safety of thousands of people during the hottest day of the season.

Thank you, Mayor Bloomberg, for your cost-cutting measures that jeopardize public safety.

Another senseless violent crime committed by a lowlife thug thinking he would get away shooting people on a busy beach.

Bloomberg may use this to push for more gun control, but does the mayor realize that it’s not the guns that kill people? It is the piece of garbage pulling the trigger.

No matter how hard you try to ban guns, it will never happen. The criminal will always get one.

Why not go after the criminals? If we continue like this, the killings will never stop.
