Reaping ‘hush-hush money’ till the end

The era of vague answers on financial-disclosure forms is drawing to a close — but Albany politicians are taking full advantage while they can.

Missing from the latest round of financial forms are key details like Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s earnings from Weitz & Luxenberg law firm in 2010, or how much Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos took in from Long Island firm Ruskin, Moscou Faltischek.

The forms were released yesterday and obtained by The Post.

Both legislators listed their outside incomes on the 2010 forms, in broad categories, but under state law the information is redacted by the Legislative Ethics Commission before being publicly released.

Gov. Cuomo’s ethics-reform bill, which passed the Legislature earlier this month, will require that lawmakers detail their outside pay more specifically.

The information will no longer be edited, but the new rules won’t take effect until May 2013.
