Hunt for 2 in Qns. mistaken-identity slay

Two gunmen killed an innocent nursing assistant in Queens while aiming for her teenage son — but he wasn’t even the right target, either, police sources said today.

In a fatal case of mistaken identity, the armed thugs thought they were actually shooting at the victim’s other son, Mark Coleman, 22, who is suspected of being involved in a gun-down earlier in the day, the sources said.

Christina Coleman, 39, and her 18-year-old son were set upon around 5:45 p.m. Saturday while inside their VW in front of the Pomonok Houses in Flushing, where they lived, cops said. The tragic mom died in the attack, and the teen was wounded.

But sources said the killers were really gunning for Mark Coleman in retaliation for an attack at the housing project several hours earlier that wounded two suspected drug dealers.

One of those victims’ brothers returned to the project with a pal, hunting for Mark Coleman. They came upon Coleman’s mom and his younger half-brother, who they mistook for Mark, in the car and shot at the pair.

Cops last night were hunting for Mark Coleman — who has a tattoo bearing his mothers name on the right side of his neck.

Police identified Lerome Robinson, 21, as a person of interest in the slaying of Coleman’s mom. They have another suspect in custody, sources said.
