Andy’s got $9M handy

ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo revealed yesterday that he raised $6.2 million in campaign funds — from lobbyists, unions, businesses and a gay-rights organization — during the first half of the year, and currently has a war chest of $9.2 million cash.

Cuomo, who spent nearly $23 million on his bid for governor last year, took office with just over $4 million in the bank and spent nearly $1.2 million on campaign-related expenses, according to the state Board of Elections.

One of the largest contributions, $60,000, came from the Empire State Pride Agenda, a major gay-rights group, six weeks before Cuomo won passage of the same-sex marriage bill in the Legislature.

Among other major contributors were Empire Dental PAC ($55,900), two Cablevision entities ($40,000), Time Warner Cable ($25,000) and the state Medical Society ($41,000).
