Ahnold: I’ll be paying

Arnold Schwarzenegger has reportedly stopped his penny-pinching attempt to deny alimony to estranged wife Maria Shriver.

The former California governor is refiling more generous court papers and blaming his high-profile divorce attorney for his much-criticized initial response, TMZ.com reported yesterday.

According to the gossip site, Schwarzenegger, who fathered a boy with the family maid and hid him from Shriver for years, had blindly signed the papers while worrying about his son Christopher, recently injured in a boogie-boarding accident in Malibu.

In absence of a prenup, California law can split the $400 million in assets evenly between the Austrian-born actor and the Kennedy heiress, though it’s expected that they will settle out of court, reports said.

The couple had been married for 25 years.

Their boys, Christopher, 13, and Patrick, 17, will spend time with both parents after they officially split and Schwartzenegger plans to pay child support.
