Crash at George Washington Bridge toll plaza

FORT LEE, N.J.— Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at the George Washington Bridge’s lower level toll plaza Wednesday.

Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman says a pickup truck rear-ended a minivan carrying a family around 11:30 a.m.

Coleman says the minivan struck a vehicle in front of it as it overturned.

Coleman says 3 people in the minivan and the pickup truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

No toll collectors were injured.

Half of the lower level toll plaza’s five lanes headed into New York City were closed for nearly an hour.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
