Bashing Bachmann: Loony left’s out of line

Andrea Peyser’s description of the attacks on conservative women by liberals highlights one worrisome characteristic of the left — liberals have become what they supposedly fought against for over 40 years (“A Liberal Dose of Venom Spit at This Woman,” July 14).

Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Lynne Cheney and Nikki Haley are intelligent, successful and independent women.

They do not, however, fit the narrowly defined mold of the women’s movement.

Their “sisters” have deteriorated into a bunch of mean girls who attack these women and their children.

Many members of the generation that demanded tolerance and freedom of expression have become an angry and intolerant remnant of their glory days.

Chris Matthews didn’t think it was a big deal that the Army knew that the Fort Hood shooter was e-mailing Anwar Al-Awlaki before the attack and did nothing about it.

Bill Maher thought that his friend, the unprincipled Arianna Huffington, was the answer to all the corrupting influences in American politics.

Neither Bachmann nor Palin have ever said anything this stupid.

If Bachmann is a “balloon head,” her IQ must still be about 80 points higher than Matthews’ and Maher’s.

How can Peyser support this phony Bachmann?

She likely has no real intention of becoming president.

She, like Palin, has figured out that there is a lot of money in running for president, at least after the fact.

While they both say that America needs help, they help themselves to America with both hands.

Peyser’s recent column identifying attacks on female Republican presidential candidates is right on target.

The individuals cited attacked these candidates based on their gender, not their qualifications.

These talk-show hosts must never have heard that they need to be careful about what they send out, because it often comes back to haunt them.

The hosts Peyser mentions would be better served if they had some quality barbs to throw instead of attacking like schoolyard twits.

Peyser has all the liberal TV losers pegged.

The three clowns she names are critical of Bachmann for no other reason than that she’s a conservative woman.

They themselves are the joke.

All three of these dregs have one thing in common besides criticizing Bachmann. All their shows are not only low-rent, but are also low-rated.

None of these so-called tolerant liberals has half her brains or any of her class.

Here we go again — a Sarah Palin repeat.

It is obvious that liberals are on a one-way street of belittling, and they think that nobody can touch them when it comes to elections.

How they get away with name-calling is pitiful.

Three cheers for Peyser.

Right now, Bachmann is my choice for president, right behind Rep. Peter King.

She faces many challenges from the mainstream media because she’s a woman and a Republican, because she’s pretty and intelligent and because she scares the left.

She scares the left because she is a very viable threat to Obama.

If Bachmann is the Republican Party nominee for president next year, watch how the media will rip her to pieces — just like they did to Palin.

But, like Palin, Bachmann’s tough and can take whatever they throw at her.
