Cart them off

Kudos to The Post for describing the unsanitary conditions of the food carts on New York streets (“Worst of the Wurst,” July 17).

Unlike restaurants, the cart owners do not pay rent, and without cash registers, they can vastly understate their income.

Moreover, while the carts block the flow of pedestrians, their food fouls up the air, especially on hot, sticky summer days.

Food carts do not add to the enjoyable ambience of the city.
