LAPD investigating ‘stalker’ death threat against Selena Gomez

LOS ANGELES — Police in Los Angeles were investigating Monday after a known stalker allegedly threatened to kill Disney starlet Selena Gomez.

Gomez, the girlfriend of teen pop star Justin Bieber, obtained a restraining order against Thomas Brodnicki, who allegedly told his psychiatrist that he planned to kill her, according to TMZ.

Brodnicki has reportedly traveled to Los Angeles from Chicago in attempts to meet Gomez and has told people he spoke with God about killing her. He has a criminal history of stalking and was taken in for evaluation last month after allegedly threatening people on the street.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management Unit is investigating and taking the threat “very seriously,” TMZ said.

Gomez, 19, was previously the object of threats from Bieber fans after her relationship with the 17-year-old “Baby” singer went public.

“Stay away from Justin, pedophile,” one angry fan tweeted at Gomez in May. “I’m gonna kill ya in the night underneath your smelly bed.”
