Power problems cause delays for Amtrak, NJ Transit

NEWARK, NJ — Amtrak crews are repairing an overhead power line that is causing delays for trains in and out of New York City Friday.

Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole says the line is in the south tube of the Hudson River rail tunnel so trains are forced to use the single track in the north tube.

Amtrak trains are facing delays of up to 30 minutes.

New Jersey Transit says Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains are running up to an hour behind schedule.

Midtown Direct trains are operating to and from Hoboken.

PATH is honoring NJ Transit rail tickets at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street stations.

No trains got stuck in the tunnel.
