Gunmen shoot 6 in buttocks, legs at Ohio frat party

AKRON, Ohio — Six men were arrested early today after they allegedly shot six people in the legs and buttocks at an off-campus party held by a University of Akron fraternity.

Police said the six suspects crashed the party, sponsored by the Sigma Beta Pi fraternity, shortly before midnight Friday and were thrown out for acting aggressively, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

“They went out to their car, got a gun and returned and shot six people in the legs and buttocks and then fled,” said Sgt. Bruce Graham with the Akron Police Department.

Graham said officers stopped their car as it fled the scene and found a gun inside. All six of the men were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery.

The six victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Their conditions were unknown today.
