It doesn’t have a payer

About $70,000 down — only $99,930,000 to go.

Park51 might need a little divine intervention to raise the $100 million it needs to build its massive worship and cultural center.

Last year, the group applied for $5 million in 9/11-related federal aid but was rejected by the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. in September because the proposed mosque has not been approved by the IRS as a tax-exempt charity.

Park51 has had to turn to the Internet for money, raising $70,722 on Kickstarter, a fund-raising Web site, for a photography exhibit called “NYChildren.”

A spokesman for Park51 — which has never revealed how much it has raised — said deep-pocketed donors are waiting for the group to gain tax-exempt status before forking over their dollars.
