The Rocket Man is over the moon about his new son.
Elton John and civil partner David Furnish are beaming in their first published photo with baby Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, born Christmas Day.
In an interview with OK! Magazine from his Los Angeles home, the 63-year-old singer said he was there at the birth of his son.
“He shot out like a rocket,” John said. “There just aren’t proper words to describe that feeling. It’s indescribable. It was just, ‘We have a son!’ ”
Zachary was mothered by a surrogate, but John and 48-year-old Furnish are the baby’s legal parents. “I’m ready to have a child and lavish my love on our son and not spoil him.,” John vowed.
Elton’s name is on the birth certificate as the biologocal father. It’s believed the surrogate mom was implanted with an egg taken from a second woman and fertilized.
