Knicks’ Anthony says he might play in China

Carmelo Anthony said he will consider offers to play professional basketball in China if there is no resolution to the NBA lockout.

The Knicks star and New Orleans guard Chris Paul were in Hong Kong, the first stop of a promotional tour of China.

With Kobe Bryant reportedly negotiating a deal to play in Turkey, Anthony and Paul said they also are considering overseas moves.

Asked by SNTV where they would go, Anthony replied “China.”

Paul said, “Same, no question.”

The answers may have been designed to compliment their hosts, but Anthony added, “It’s a lot of history here, the fans are great; why not, why not try it out?”

Anthony and Paul were both members of the U.S. squad that won the 2008 Olympic gold medal in Beijing.
