Cop sarge DWI bust

An off-duty NYPD sergeant was busted for drunken driving early yesterday in Brooklyn, cops said.

“I had a couple of beers,” Diego Vivar bluntly admitted to The Post yesterday when reached on his cellphone.

But the 34-year-old cop added: “There were no injuries and I didn’t have my firearm on me.”

A patrol cop pulled over the sloshed sergeant who ran a red light in Carroll Gardens at Court and Garnet streets shortly before 2 a.m., sources said.

Vivar, who said he’s assigned to the 44th Precinct in The Bronx, was given a Breathalyzer at a nearby station house, according to the sources.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and suspended for 30 days without pay, cops said.

Vivar was released without bail at his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court, a DA spokesman said.
