Jamie Shupak is like a shot of espresso — petite, potent and wakes up the Big Apple every morning as NY1’s perky traffic reporter.

Since the 5-foot-1 brunette arrived at the station last year, she’s become a local cult favorite for cute catchphrases such as “Willyb” (for the Williamsburg Bridge) and witty banter with anchor Pat Kiernan.

“I get stopped all of the time on the street,” says the bubbly Philadelphia native. “People are so nice. They always say they love the banter between Pat and me.”

But the West Village resident gets downright giddy about fans of the more famous variety.

“It’s always cool when Pat goes out to these big fancy events and we find out that famous people watch [NY1]. When we found out Jerry Seinfeld watches, we freaked out. Morgan Spurlock watches, too,” says Shupak, 29.

Monday through Friday, Shupak arrives at the station’s Chelsea Market studio (she cabs it from her West Village pad) at a bleary-eyed 4 a.m., when most night crawlers are draining their last whiskey. It’s a tough schedule, but she has no intention of looking for work with later hours. “I love the idea of waking people up in the morning. I never really want a 9-to-5 job,” says Shupak, who boasts she’s never been late for her 5:08 a.m. appearance.

Shupak had an awakening of her own in the past year.

After nearly 10 years with her college sweetheart and an engagement of 21⁄2 years, she found herself back on the market in a most unpleasant way — she says her fiancé was having an affair.

“It was the most difficult thing. I’m single for the first time in my adult life, and that’s why I’m really open to everything,” says the candid reporter.

So open that her weekly calendar can be filled with up to three dates.

“I’ve been very lucky that everyone and their mother wants to set me up . . . I’ll meet up with almost anyone for a drink, and I’ve met a lot of great guys,” says Shupak.

It’s also led to a second career as a dating columnist for Complex magazine, where she chronicles the challenges of dating in Manhattan, which have been mostly positive.

“I’ve been lucky. I get that a lot of people are jaded and really negative about dating, but it’s so new and fun for me. I think it’s about your attitude, and I’m not in any big rush,” says Shupak, who adds that the best date she’s had thus far was a guy who took her to an Eagles-Giants game.

“I’m a huge sports fan. When guys take me to sporting events, that’s the best thing they can do,” she says.

But potential suitors beware.

Season tickets to the Phillies aren’t an automatic green light to Shupak’s heart. You need be able to bond with her two brothers.

“They’re very protective. [Any] guy is going to have to get along with them, and I think about that pretty early on.”

The Post put New York’s newest single lady — who has a wardrobe full of colorful J.Crew togs and Diane von Furstenberg wrap dressses — in some of the summer’s most flirty and feminine frocks. The effect: truly traffic-stopping.
