UBS future in Conn. to be announced

HARTFORD, Conn. — Aides say Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and UBS Americas chief executive Phil Lofts will be making a major announcement about the company’s future in the state.

Malloy’s office says a news conference is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at the UBS headquarters in Stamford. Officials aren’t saying what the announcement will be.

The announcement follows media reports that UBS is seeking to move offices from Stamford to New York, and that the company has dropped plans to relocate to the World Trade Center and is looking at midtown Manhattan sites instead.
