Al Bundy back to the shoe store with star

There’s no escaping shoes for Al Bundy.

In a humorous twist of fate, Ed O’Neill’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star is located right outside of a DSW Shoe Store on Hollywood Boulevard.

O’Neill, who played Bundy, spent a decade immortalizing the trials and tribulations of a downtrodden shoe salesman and family man on the Fox sitcom “Married…With Children.”

The series, which put fledgling network Fox on the map, ran for 11 seasons, beginning in the spring of 1987.

O’Neill’s star — the 2,446th in the TV category — was unveiled yesterday.

Cheering him on, according to reports, were fellow “MWC” stars Christina Applegate and Katey Sagal and current “Modern Family” co-stars Sofia Vergara, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Ariel Winter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

In an interview with his hometown newspaper, Youngstown, Ohio’s The Vindicator, O’Neill said that he “almost turned [the star] down.”

“I thought it was kind of weird,” he said, “But I mentioned it to my daughter, who is 11, and she said, ‘Daddy, you have to get your star. If you don’t, that means you’re crazy.’ ”
