Earlier, at Lincoln Center, BCBG Max Azria and Richard Chai Love were among those launching the big event.
The opening-day schedule was lighter than usual, as many designers prepared to mingle with shoppers at a slew of Fashion’s Night Out events.

Designers showed off many looks in muted colors — including chalk gray, light stone and blush pink — but with pops of yellow, blue, coral and emerald green.
Typically, designers show their wares long before they’ll be available for sale.
But this year, minutes after designers like Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler debut their looks, many will be posted online with descriptions and prices.
