Asinine Alec assails Post reporter

Maybe he should switch to decaf.

Alec Baldwin yesterday took some Twitter shots at The Post scribe who relayed an eyewitness account of his cranky behavior at an Upper West Side Starbucks last week.

The joe-guzzling actor — sounding as bitter as an overcooked espresso — tweeted yesterday to his 331,533 followers: “Today’s question: What makes Helen Freund of NY Post such a sleazy, from-under-a-rock tab gnat? What drives these tab “writers?” do u care?”

On Wednesday, Baldwin — who Forbes said raked in $8.5 million from 2009-2010 — took time out of busy schedule to blast his barista, posting: “Starbucks on 93 and B’way. Uptight Queen barrista [sic] named JAY has an attitude problem.”

But a second Starbucks barista told The Post it was the “30 Rock” co-star who was the real caveman, calling him “probably the rudest guy I’ve ever met.”

And he even got the name of the allegedly offending barista wrong — it’s Giovan, the second barista noted.

The Twitter universe responded yesterday, with user SamValley tweeting: “Only alecbaldwin can make people fell [sic] sympathy for a Starbucks barista.”

Baldwin, who is considering a run for mayor in 2013, appeared to find humor in it all. “Ha! May be true.”
