GRAND PRIX OPIE Director Ron Howard began preparations for “Rush,” his upcoming film on Formula 1 racing, with pre-production shooting and camera tests at the Nuerburgring motorsport complex in Nuerburg, Germany. Sporting and Indiana Jones-style fedora, Howard had an absolute blast getting shots of Formula 1 cars, then enjoyed a steak at a longtime driver favorite, the Pistenklause Restaurant in Nuerburg.

SPUN NORTH Actress/DJ Taryn Manning took in the Toronto International Film Festival, where she supn at the after-party for “Billy Bates” — which was co-produced by Al Pacino‘s daughter Julie — at Toronto’s Fifth Social Club. “It’s similar to a club you’d see in the Hamptons,” says Manning, “with a real shabby-chic feel.” When not rockin’ the turntables herself, she partied to the music of her friend DJ Zen at The Soho House’s pop-up club, and sipped Red Bull at Goodnight Bar, where she was thrilled to spot Toronto native Drake.

HOMESICK Polo stud Nacho Figueras had a busy summer — Hong Kong, Toronto, the Philippines, London, Australia, you name it. When Post contributor Laurie Heifetz caught up with him at the International Polo Club of Colts Neck in New Jersey recently, all he had on the brain was home. As in, Argentina. Where should Americans go, when visiting? “Glaciers. Waterfalls. Mountains. Buenos Aires. A great city.” That’s your itinerary handled, then.

TWEET OF THE WEEK As the rest of us mourn the passing of summer, certain stars prolong it by jetting off to warmer climes, then rubbing our noses in it via Twitter. “Riviera weather is best it’s been all summer,” chirped Joan Collins. “Paradise!!” Tease.
