Upper West Side water main break halts service on A, B, C & D trains

Emergency crews are on the scene of a severe water main break at Central Park West and W. 106th Street.

The 30-inch, 94-year-old cast iron pipe burst just after 11 a.m. today, sending water cascading into the subway system and snarling trains.

While electriciy and water remain unaffected for residents in the area, with heavy flooding undergound, especially at the 110th Street station, subway service has been impacted.

Subway service on the A, B, C and D lines has been affected by the water main break.

– Downtown A trains are terminating at the 145th Street Station

– Uptown A trains are terminating at the 59th Street-Columbus Circle Station

– No C service in both directions between the Euclid Avenue Station and the 168th Street Station

– No service in both directions between the 145th Street Station and the Brighton Beach Station

– Downtown trains terminate at 161st Street-Yankee Stadium Station

– Select uptown trains terminate at the Pacific Street Station or the West 4th Street-Washington Square Station
