Jon Cryer lands Hollywood Star ahead of ‘Two and a Half Men’ reboot

LOS ANGELES — “Two and a Half Men” star Jon Cryer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday, hours before season nine of the revamped comedy was set to premiere.

The show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, was on hand at the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard to cheer on the actor, who plays shy Alan Harper on the hit CBS series.

Cryer, 46, had taken a public tongue lashing from his former co-star, Charlie Sheen, who called Cryer “a turncoat, traitor, and a troll” when Sheen had his public meltdown earlier this year.

Sheen was fired from the comedy in March after his conspicuous partying with porn stars and vocal criticism of Lorre and CBS executives.

But the ousted star sung to a different tune at Sunday’s Emmy Awards, sending his best wishes to the crew of the show and its new lead actor, Ashton Kutcher.

“From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season,” Sheen said.

Cryer made his big screen debut in the 1984 comedy “No Small Affair,” that also starred Kutcher’s current wife Demi Moore. He also appeared in films including “Pretty in Pink” and “Hot Shots!” co-starring Sheen.

He landed his role on the CBS comedy in 2003 and earned the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2009.
