BCBG Max Azria

Fall 2012 Fashion Week kicked off with great traditional flair: the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway show. After a frenzy of flashbulbs papped the front row, the show opened with an ultra-chic taupe and cream colorblocked trench. It was followed up with a series of light-as-air, billowy silk and crepe dresses done in soft pleats decorated with geometric prints. The brand has explored these trends for a few seasons now, but it tackled new territory in the way of fur-trimmed patchwork cropped jackets and coats. There were furry clutches, too; a fashionable and functional way to keep your hands warm come fall.

Silhouettes were long and lean, and, true to the brand’s DNA, there were fresh color combos aplenty: Our favorite was the blush and merlot silky pleated frock, which had us drooling as it whispered past.
