Two Port Authority cops injured after car rams both officers’ vehicles

Two Port Authority cops suffered minor injuries Thursday when a speeding motorist intentionally slammed into one officer’s car on the George Washington Bridge before ramming a second cop’s vehicle in Ft. Lee, N.J., sources said.

The 5 p.m. incident unfolded when the driver, Joseph Power 28, allegedly swerved into a PAPD’s cop car as they were driving on the bridge from Manhattan to New Jersey.

Powers took off after the collision, but he and his passenger, Edward Ceus, 28, were caught moments later after a head-on crash on Lemoine Avenue, in Ft. Lee., with a second patrol car driven by a second PA cop, authorities said.

Both officers were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, a police official said.

Powers, of Rockalnd County, was found with hypodermic needles, sources said.

He was charged with eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, vehicular assault and driving while under the influence of drugs.

Charges against Ceus, of Spring Valley, were pending.
