INDIANAPOLIS — Brandon Jacobs sang the ballad of Eli Manning.
“Eli Manning is the best quarterback in the National Football League, hands down,” Jacobs said last night after the Giants’ 21-17 Super Bowl XLVI victory lover the Patriots.
“Know why? Because everyone always says, ‘You’re not this and you’re not that until you win the Super Bowl.’ Even after he won a Super Bowl, people started giving him a little more credit. But now he’s got two. So does this make him the best quarterback in the National Football League?

“Drew Brees is a great quarterback, he’s at home. Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback, he’s at home. Tom Brady’s a great quarterback, he’s at home. Eli beat him twice (in the Super Bowl). You guys ask Tom Brady that and I bet he’ll tell you the same thing.
“Eli’s a beast. Eli’s an animal.”
Could this have been Jacobs’ last game as a Giant?
“I hope something gets worked out,” Jacobs said. “I want to retire a Giant. There’s things that can be done if they want me around.”
