Gal stuffs seafood in clothes during ‘shoplift’ try

An organic-food-loving thief allegedly stuffed $145 worth of seafood into her clothes and purse at Whole Foods in Union Square — but a security guard spotted the fishy business and reported her, police sources said.

Fahdia Khan, 39, of Bronxville, had been lingering near a seafood display case — full of lobster claws, littleneck clams and marinated bass — at around 7:25 p.m. on Oct. 2 before she allegedly started stockpiling the expensive grub, cops said.

The guard spotted the bulge in her clothes and called cops, who then searched her purse and found several other stolen items alongside the food.

Police discovered a pair of pliers, stolen debit cards and a New Jersey ID belonging to another woman, police said.

Employees at the shop said it’s common for crooks to try to swipe seafood — which sits behind a sheet of glass that’s fairly easy to reach over and is often unattended. Cuts of fish can cost $30 per slab.

“People are always trying to steal seafood. Just the other day, a guy put crab legs in his coat and ran up the stairs,” one worker told The Post.

Khan was charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools, and possession of stolen property, police sources said.

She has been arrested twice in the past, including once at the American International Building in June 2010 for allegedly using a stolen credit card to buy an Apple laptop. The other case is sealed.

Her bail was set at $5,000 cash and she is due back in court on Nov. 6. She did not return calls seeking comment.
