“Glee’s” tribute to fallen star Cory Monteith paid off handsomely in the ratings department.
Thursday-night’s hour-long episode of the Fox music/drama series — devoted to marking the passing of Monteith’s series character, Finn Hudson — snared 7.4 million viewers, up 68 percent from the previous week.
It also posted its best numbers in adults 18-34 in over a year — increasing by a whopping 81 percent in that category over its Oct. 3 episode.
The episode, which featured several musical numbers, including one sung by Leah Michele — Monteith’s cast mate and real-life girlfriend — never addressed the manner in which Finn died.
Monteith was 31 when he was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room last July in what was eventually ruled an accidental drug overdose.
