Melillo has been employed as a special-education and English teacher at Sayreville HS.

Prosecutors said she assaulted the boys individually on multiple occasions this past summer. The officials would not say where the alleged acts occurred.

Melillo was held behind bars Friday at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Authorities said the school board suspended her with pay.

The prosecutor’s office says it had not yet been contacted by an attorney for Melillo.
