OWS protestor busted trying to bring gun & bullets into court

Looks like he’ll be occupying a jail cell again.

An idiotic Occupy Wall Street protestor heading to an appearance at Manhattan Criminal Court today was busted as he tried to secret a firearm and ammo into the heavily-guarded judicial building, The Post has learned.

John Scott Dekuyper, 52, called his gun gaffe “the stupidest thing I’ve ever done,” according to Lt. Pete Dolan, a court officer who witnessed the slip-up at 100 Centre St.

Court officers spied the weapon and bullets at around 9:45 a.m. after Dekuyper, of Delaware, put his brown leather bag down on the conveyer belt to pass through the magnetometer, Dolan added.

“It was unloaded with a box of rounds,” Dolan said.

Dekuyper, who allegedly claimed he is licensed to carry a gun in his home state, was immediately arrested on weapons possession charges.

The absent-minded Dekuyper had gone to the courthouse for a hearing on charges stemming from an arrest in Times Square on Oct. 15, which was dubbed Global Day of Action for the protest movement.
