Cops nab gang member who fired gun into crowd, wounded teen

Plainclothes cops collared a teenaged gang member who wounded a 14-year-old boy after firing shots into a crowd of people in Queens early this morning, authorities said today.

Christopher Chinloy, 17, was spotted by the cops firing a gun in front of a Rockaway Beach grocery store just after midnight, police said.

The veteran cops, Sergeant Craig Bier and Officer Donnell Myers, were on their way back to their command in the Queens gang unit when they heard the gun fire on Beach Channel Drive, cops said.

The quick thinking officer swung the unmarked car around and Chinloy, a known Crips member, started charging at the vehicle with the gun still in his hand, police said.

Chinloy dropped the weapon and surrendered after the officers identified themselves, authorities said.

The thug was charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

Chinloy has a rap sheet that includes arrests for weapons possession, criminal possession of stolen property and disorderly conduct.

The wounded teen was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

Police recovered four shell casings from the scene.
