Brooklyn man busted for making threatening comments about NYPD commish freed on bail

A Brooklyn man busted for allegedly making threatening comments online about Police Commissioner Ray Kelly was freed on $10,000 bail yesterday and ordered to stay away from the top cop.

Richard Strauss, 49, had railed against Kelly in the comments section of Gothamist.com, where, using the handle Ladder157, he called the commissioner “an enemy of the people.”

“A well-placed round of 7.62 ammo to his thick skull would work quite well to eliminate the threat he poses. All New Yorkers should aim their sights (both figuratively and literally) on this piece of excrement,” the comment read.

Strauss’ lawyer, Jay Galleshaw, said his client was venting and is“not a threat.”

A source said cops executed a search warrant at the home he shares with his mother and took their computers to examine them.

In 2004, Strauss was charged with weapons possession after firing shots out of his window, sources said.
