Cyber-insult victory for bitter former ‘flames’

Flame on!

Two spurned women who were sued by a Manhattan lawyer for branding him a low-life Lothario on the Web celebrated yesterday after the suit was thrown out of court.

Amanda Ryncarz — who says Matthew Couloute Jr. dumped her over the phone five days before marrying another woman — called the ruling “not only a victory for myself, but for women across the country who are currently suffering the same type of injustices.”

Former roller-derby queen Stacey Blitsch, who has a son with Couloute, added, “I hope this case will be a wake-up call for people everywhere to just be honest, tell the truth and treat people the way you want to be treated.”

Their lawyer, feminist firebrand Gloria Allred, said Manhattan federal Judge Harold Baer Jr. “has advanced women’s rights.”

Baer ruled that Couloute, a former Connecticut prosecutor, failed to show that the poison-pen postings were intended to hurt his budding solo law firm.

Baer also said Couloute couldn’t claim he was defamed because the rants at liarscheatersrus.com were clearly “hyperbolic statements of opinion.”

Couloute vowed to appeal, saying, “The suit was never about cheating . . . but about what you can print on the Internet and the harm it causes to people’s lives.”
