Girls basketball roundup: South Shore throttles Ocean City down in Jersey

Maybe all South Shore needed was a trip to the Atlantic City area to cure its ills.

Freshman sensation Brianna Fraser had 12 points, eight rebounds and five blocks and Auriella Cammock had 12 points and seven rebounds to lead the Vikings to a 55-28 rout of Trenton (N.J.) Central in the Prime Events Shootout girls basketball event Monday at Holy Spirit HS in Absecon, N.J.

Malika Chisolm had seven points and three assists for South Shore (20-5), which suffered recent losses to Lincoln and Life Center (N.J.). The Vikings are the top seed in the PSAL Class AA playoffs and will get a bye into quarterfinals March 3 at Hunter College. They await the winner of a game between Banneker and Midwood.

Ocean City (N.J.) 51, Curtis 36: Kristen Olsen and Danielle Leguillou each had 10 points for Curtis (15-8) at the Prime Events Shootout. Reilly Larkin and Julia Duggan each had 13 points and Emily Duggan added 10 points for Ocean City.
