Shots fired at rapper Young Buck’s vehicle in Tennessee, woman injured

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Police in Nashville said a woman was shot in the shoulder early Sunday when someone fired on an SUV driven by rapper Young Buck.

The vehicle was hit with 11 shots, WSMV-TV reported. The shooter fired from a car as it drove past Young Buck’s SUV at around 3:30 a.m.

The woman was treated at a local hospital and released, according to police. Another passenger who was riding in the SUV was not hurt.

Young Buck, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, is a Nashville native who told police he was in town to work on a music project.

He gained fame as a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew, but was dismissed from the group in 2008. He and 50 Cent publicly feuded in the wake of the falling out, with both rappers insulting one another on several songs.

Brown pleaded not guilty in March 2011 to felony gun possession charges after federal agents alleged they found a .40-caliber pistol and ammunition at his Nashville home.

As a convicted felon, Brown is not permitted to have firearms or ammunition. In 2004, he was convicted of stabbing a man at the VIBE Awards in California.
