Protesters arrested at Occupy Wall Street in Zuccotti Park

The only space they’ll occupy now is the clink.

A bunch of Occupy Wall Street protesters were busted early today after they attempted to reoccupy Zuccotti Park.

Cops said the protesters were cuffed when they began setting up sleeping bags around Zuccotti Park and were told to stop. Eight people were taken into custody at the park around 12:30 a.m., but cops released seven after writing summons for disorderly conduct.

One of the eight protesters, Jason Liszkiewicz, 36, was arrested and booked on charges of obstructing governmental administration. Another protester, Mohamed Olivo, of the Bronx, was arrested around 3:50 a.m., at the corner of Broadway and Wall Street, where police said he was shouting and causing a public nuisance. The 22-year-old was booked on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The move came just hours before about hundred OWS protesters declared a “Day of Action” and rallied around the city. Protests included a sit-in’ at Bryant Park, a march on a Bank of America branch near Grand Central Station and vocal gatherings near Pfizer’s midtown headquarters.

One protester was arrested at Bryant Park after he had ridden his bike on the sidewalk outside the New York Public Library.
