Michael Rapaport interested in doing Jeremy Lin doc, disses Rick Ross

During the NBA All-Star weekend in Orlando, actor turned producer — and Knick fan — Michael Rapaport said he is interested in doing a documentary on Jeremy Lin.

He tells a MTV reporter that he felt like a, “12 year-old-girl who saw ‘N-Sync” when describing his moment of taking pictures with the latest Knick star. But despite his Linsanity, the New York-native Knicks fan and documentarian seemed to defer his interest to Spike Lee, who seems to have his hands all over Madison Square Garden and New York.

Though Rapaport’s Knick fandom may not be as well known as Lee’s, he definitely has made his love for rap music known.

In 2011, Rapaport produced an independent documentary about the legendary hip-hop group, A Tribe Called Quest. Band leader, Q-Tip, stirred a bit of controversy before the film premiered by protesting the “behind-the-scenes” revelations of the bands trials and tribulations.

Apparently, Rapaport disapproved of today’s generation’s taste in music which selected Rick Ross as their number one ‘Hottest MC’ in 2012, according to MTV polls. When he heard the news from the MTV producer, Rapaport just walked away from the interview leaving everyone hanging on the phrase, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

Either that or he just wanted to watch the All-Star game.
