Manhattan watch dealer cuts deal in wife-email flap

A celebrity watch dealer pleaded guilty in Manhattan today to unauthorized use of a computer — a misdemeanor — in a step toward resolving charges by his estranged doctor wife that he’d been criminally accessing her emails.

If Evan Zimmerman stays out of trouble for the next six months, he will be allowed to re-plead to disorderly conduct, which a violation, and all criminal charges against him will be dropped, a Manhattan judge agreed today.

Zimmermann, 43, of Manhattan, is CEO of Antiquorum, the world’s largest watch auction. His sales in recent years have included Mahatma Gandhi’s pocket watch, timepieces owned by actor Steve McQueen and a Longines once owned by Albert Einstein.

Zimmermann’s defense lawyer, Robert Wolf, called the resolution a victory, and said that his client is now divorced from his anesthesiologist wife, Dr. Jennifer Zimmerman. The doctor had accused her husband of harassing and spying on her.

” Mr. Zimmermann is extremely pleased with today’s victory and that his case has been successfully resolved and a dismissal achieved,” his lawyer told The Post.
