MTA agent ‘attacks’

A female subway-station agent with a hot temper attacked a mother of two yesterday in The Bronx after the woman was short a dime while purchasing a $4.50 MetroCard, according to police and the alleged victim’s lawyer.

MTA employee Phylathia Monroe, 45, allegedly punched Janet Ojeda, 26, in the face and then picked her up by the neck and threw her against a metal door during the violent argument at 5:35 a.m. in the East 138th Street/Third Avenue subway stop in Mott Haven.

“This was a really big woman, and the victim is a really little lady,” said Justin Blitz, who is representing Ojeda.

Monroe weighs more than 200 pounds and stands 5-foot-6, police sources said.

Ojeda, who was going to work, reported the attack to the nearby 40th Precinct station house and was treated for her injuries at Lincoln Hospital.

Monroe was arrested on misdemeanor assault charges and given a desk-appearance ticket, police said. Disciplinary action is pending, said an MTA rep.
