It’s a case of lose some, win some at American Media.
AMI boosted Kristen Elliott into the executive suite as the new vice president and group publisher of the women’s lifestyle group, replacing Diane Newman, who two weeks ago left AMI for personal reasons.
Elliott was most recently publisher of AMI-owned Natural Health and Fit Pregnancy.
The move comes hours after Time Inc. raided AMI’s Shape for publisher Brian Gruseke.
Gruseke will become publisher of Time’s Sunset title.
In January, Peter Medwid left Sunset as publisher to become senior vice president, publisher, at Martha Stewart Living.
In addition, Elliott, in her new role at AMI, will assume the role of publisher of Shape, which was until yesterday held by Gruseke.
