Who could abandon him?

A sweet-faced baby boy was found abandoned in the lobby of a Brooklyn apartment building yesterday, after a woman taking out the garbage spotted him lying on the lobby floor in a car seat.

“It’s very cruel,” said Reggie Chan, 17, who lives in the building at 413 62nd St. in Sunset Park.

The green-eyed infant — believed to be just 2 to 3 months old — was found cooing in the foyer at about 2 p.m., police said. A black diaper bag with diapers and formula had been left beside him.

“It was crying with a vivid voice and sneezing a little bit — probably because it was a little cold and chilly today,” Chan said.

The tot was found by Chen Ling, 60, who saw the boy as soon as she opened her door to dump the trash.

“I felt broken-hearted and very concerned for the child,” she said through an interpreter. “I hope the parents will realize their mistake for abandoning their child like that.”

Ling said the boy was covered in blankets. She knocked on her neighbor’s doors, in an attempt to find the child’s parents, but no one knew anything about the boy.

Ling then reported the discovery to her landlord, who in turn called 911.

“It caused a commotion,” Chan said.

Cops canvassed the area, but did not find the parents.

“[Police] were saying it was a lady [who abandoned the child] and she left a piece of hair” in the car seat, said Manny Vargas, 23, a worker at a near-by Rite Aid, who heard detectives discussing the case.

EMS took the baby to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was found to be in good health, sources said.
